Sometime ago we did a series on pregnancy loss.
We spoke to a gynaecologist @benekaidem , a mum who had experienced loss @breastfeedingng and a psychologist @kachiekwerike of @psnafrica .
The most common feeling @kachiekwerike had encountered with mums who had lost a baby was guilt.
He gave some advice on how to cope:
😔 Dear mum, please forgive yourself.
😔 Allow yourself to process what has happened.
😣 Don’t repress your emotions.
📝 Keep a journal of what happened and how it made you feel.
💑 Reach out to your partner as they may be hurting as much as you are. If they are not supportive find an external support system.
👫Don’t isolate yourself.
🤗 It is okay to struggle.
Dear Mum, you are strengthened, even now when you feel numb, weak, angry or confused.
